Great month

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10

This month has just started, n we don't know what to expect, there will be good times, bad time and downright ugly times. Regardless of what we go through, God has promised to strengthen n uphold us, what better confidence to go through the month.
Keep trusting in Him n have a wonderful n great month ahead. Stay Blessed!

Cast your burden

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 55:22

They say "A problem shared is a problem half solved", I'll say "A problem shared with God is a problem fully solved". As much as it's good to share with others, we should not rely on them for solutions. God might have placed them in a position to help but all in all, it's His doing.

Cast your burden upon the LORD for He Cares.

Happy Women's day

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord , she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:10,30

Even as we celebrate international women's day, let's try and emulate the proverbs 31 woman.
A virtuous woman is priceless and a woman that fears The Lord shall be praised forever.

His Grace n Power

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Sometimes God let's us go through certain situations or affliction just to remind us who is in charge and to make us humble. Like Paul, we should be glad in our weakness because we know God's undeserved grace is forever sufficient for us and His power gives us strength.

The Builder

For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
Hebrews 3:4

We may physically build or plan our lives, be it our business, family, relationships, etc but at the end of the day, everything is in God's hands, He is the one that build all things and builds it perfectly.
Instead of living our lives by trial and error on what we think is best, we can let the one (God) with the blue print take control.

God of Peace

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

In this trying world we live in, the only one who can give us peace even in trying times is God. All we have to do is believe n trust in Him. He is the only one who can calm our storms. Give reign of your life to Him.

See and Ear!

Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
Isaiah 42:20

Sometimes we are blind and deaf like the Israelites; be it to The Word of God, His warnings and sometimes we don't even acknowledge His blessings.
The fastest way to missing the road is turning a deaf ear to God cos even when He tries to seek us out, we will be long gone. So we should constantly check ourselves and make sure, we are constantly tuned to Him.

He that hath eyes let him see and he that hath ears let him ear!

Give

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet but it tendeth to poverty.
Proverbs 11:24

There's a saying in my place, The hand of he that gives is always above and he that receives is always below.
Our relationship with God shouldn't be only about receiving. We also can give not only material things but also our time, and other resources to help in the growth of the kingdom.
We don't have to give for the sake of receiving, our intention towards giving also matters.

To he that much is given, much is expected. The more we give, the more we receive.

He forgives

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
Micah 7:18

God always forgives us, regardless of the size or the colour of our sins.
God never stay angry with us which gives us the confidence to always go back to Him when we have done things wrongly n He's ever ready to hear us.
His anger is but a moment but His Favour n Mercy last a lifetime.

Love your enemies

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luke 6:27-28

I think the most difficult commandment to keep is loving our enemies. How can u love someone who despises u, someone who wishes u no good, someone who is waiting for your failure. It's just plain difficult.
But we are not only called to love them, but also to bless and pray for them. We will be shocked at how much our love and prayer will change them with time.

Bless them that curse you n love them that hate u.

His Kindness

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:10

God's undeserved kindness to all is the reason why He appointed His son to die for us. Many are called but few are chosen, and it's a privilege to be among the chosen ones. Now, He didn't promise us a problem free life, but He will make us complete, steady, strong and firm.
His Grace is forever sufficient for us.
Why don't we share this kindness with others today.

Sing Praises ALWAYS

The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:2

After crossing the red sea, the Israelites were seen praising God (1-18) in the sane chapter at marah (24) they were seen complaining.
Sometimes we are just like them, we praise God for the good and complain for the bad. This shouldn't be, In the good and bad, we should always praise the Lord.

Bless The Lord O my soul, all that is within me praise Him forever more.

Listen and dwell on the lyrics of "Blessed be your name" by "Tree"

By His Grace

And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant..........
Deuteronomy 8:17-18a

Though we achieve certain things through our hard work, we should always remember it's by God's grace and not our doing. We can toil day and night but if God does not bless our hand work, then it's vain.

Give Him all the glory He's worthy of, cos He makes all things right in His time.

Power of the Tongue

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:2

The mouth(tongue) is the most powerful part of the body. It can make, it can break and it can destroy. It can pray and it can curse.

There is no perfect man but we can work towards perfection by controlling our tongue.
We can proclaim positive things into our lives n other's.

Tongue is your handy weapon, use it positively.

Commit your works n plans

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Proverbs 16:3

Sometimes we worry about the future, if things will go as we plan or imagine. If we commit our works n plans into God's hands, His Will will become ours and with patience, in His own time all our thoughts shall be established.

Don't worry, Just commit to Him!

Peacemakers

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

It's difficult to make peace with those that ain't worth it or who aren't even willing to let things go, But Christ has classified us as peacemakers, so to live up to being children of God, we should always make peace with mankind whether it suits us or not.

Mercy and Truth

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
Proverbs 3:3

As children of God, we should be known as people who stand for truth always, in favourable situations n un-favourable ones, regardless of what friends expect of us.

Though it's difficult to be kind and forgiving to those who have treated us badly, God is expecting this of us.

He will give us the grace to have mercy on those that are not even worthy of it cos once, we were in their position and He will help us to stand for truth always.

Sing Praises!

Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
Isaiah 42:10

Sing a new song unto The Lord and He will do new things.
Praise Him in all the earth for He alone is worthy of our praises.
Sing praises to the King of kings for His reign is everlasting.
Give Him all the Glory for He is the Lord of lords.
Praise Him for He reign eternally!!!

Thirst and Hunger for Him

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
Philippians 3:10

No one can help us know God, they can tell us about Him or give us a glimpse of His faithfulness, but when we have the thirst and hunger to know Him in our hearts, He will gradually reveal Himself to us.

Anyone can read the Bible but it takes immense knowledge and understanding to understand it and this can be given by God.

Thirst for Him, so He can fill you, Hunger for Him so He can replenish you.

Seek The Lord

With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Psalm 119:10

The Bible says, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
Sometimes we wanna please God by doing what is right but our flesh hinders us; which is why paul urged us to feed the spirit so that it can win the battle over flesh, in addition to this, it takes the grace of God to stand cos even the mighty falls

Seek the Lord with your whole heart and by His grace, you shall not wander

Purge yourself

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21

Most times we are the one hindering The master from using us; which is mainly cos of sin or uncleanness in our hearts.
The Master is calling us today to purge ourselves from uncleanness of heart n spirit. He really wants to use us for His Glory but He can't as long as there's a gap between us and Him.
Check yourself, and bridge that gap, don't be an hindrance to the work of God.

Dwell in the house

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:4

I love that chorus that says:
Better is 1 day in your house
Better is 1 day in your court
Than a 1000 elsewhere.

Seeking God's face just cos we want to be in His presence is the key to dwelling in His house. Also the psalmist said all the days of his life and not some days, similarly it should be a daily thing for us and not sm thing we do part time.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and you shall dwell in His House forever.

Greatest gift, Share it!

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8

Christ's death is the greatest gift that has ever been bestowed upon mankind. He died that we might live even when we don't deserve.

Share that gift with others cos a while ago, you were in their position. Take a step of faith!

It Is Good!

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
Psalm 71:8

We should not praise God only on days when things are good, but also on days when things are bad. Praising God even in bad times lift our spirit and it helps knowing God's presence is with us.

It's not always easy to give thanks to God esp when things are bad, but it's always good.

Don't be like a sign board

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:24,27

More than 13 yrs ago, I remember watching diff illustrations of how the 2nd coming of Christ will be and the one that stuck a lot is the sign board one.
A sign board directs u to ur destination but never goes there .

Directing ppl to heaven does not automatically give u a place there, the way u live till the end determines it.

Live every moment of your life as though it were the end so you will not stay stuck nor miss the way.

Apply His Word

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:24-25

It's not enough to hear the Word or study it without applying it to our lives. We should not read The Bible as a routine or c it as a job that is required of us; it should be cos of our thirst for knowledge and desire to know Him more.
Study and apply His Word and you will be like a rock that cannot be shaken.

According to His Will

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1 John 5:14

We all expect the will of God to drop in our laps or to find it's way into our dreams, yea sometimes this might be the case, but we can't know if it's truly His will without knowing Him and His words.

Knowing His Word help us know Him better and knowing Him help us know His will.

Pray according to His will and He'll hear you.

Turn your hearts to Him!

And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
Jeremiah 24:7

Normally in the start of the year, we tend to begin with God but as the year goes on, we forget all promises and commitments made and we decide to go with the flow.

There's no assurance that the world economy or situation will get better, but as long as our hearts are on Him, He'll be with us through all situations good or bad through out the year.
What better confidence do we need to go through the year.

Turn your hearts to Him and He'll never let you down.

He'll abide with us!

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psalm 33:18

As long as we keep our eyes on The Lord this year, Not only will His eyes be on us, His hands will also be with us. Just like the hymn say:
I'll lift my eyes to the hills
From whence cometh my help....
My help cometh from the Lord.
Whatever we may go through this year, we should not let our focus shift from God. As long as we stay focused on him, His presence will abide with us. Have a great year and God bless!
